Can I use a non-square image?
Yes, but it will be cropped to a square from the center. It's best to crop the important part into the middle beforehand.
How do I apply the generated files to my site?
Follow the instructions included in the downloaded ZIP: upload the favicon files to your site's root and add the provided <link rel="icon"> tags inside <head>.
Can I use an SVG or a very large image?
Most formats a browser can read work, and formats some browsers can't decode directly are retried automatically another way. There are still limits on file size and image dimensions.
