Remove a plain background — most often white — from a logo, signature, product photo or screenshot and save it as a transparent PNG. Click the part of the image that is background, and the tool clears every pixel of a similar color.

The tolerance slider decides how close a color must be to count as background, and the edge softness slider fades the border so the cut-out doesn't look jagged. "Connected area only" keeps same-colored parts inside the subject (for example white eyes or letters), while "Whole image" clears that color everywhere. This works best on simple backgrounds — it is not an AI background remover, so busy photos with cluttered backgrounds won't cut out cleanly.

Frequently asked questions

Does this remove the background from any photo?

No. It removes one plain color (and similar shades) — it is not an AI background remover. It works well on white backgrounds such as logos, signatures, scans and product shots on a plain backdrop, and poorly on busy or gradient backgrounds.

Why is a faint outline left around my subject?

Pixels along the edge are a blend of the subject and the background color. Raise the tolerance a little, or raise the edge softness. The tool also removes the leftover background tint from semi-transparent edge pixels, which reduces a white halo.

What is the difference between "Connected area only" and "Whole image"?

"Connected area only" clears the background you clicked and the areas touching it, so same-colored parts inside the subject (like white eyes or letters) stay. "Whole image" clears that color everywhere, including enclosed areas.

Which file format does it save?

PNG, because it supports transparency. JPG cannot be transparent.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser and the image never leaves your device.
